Men In Boxes

I finished painting these19"x 26" battle boards and tested them out with my 1:72 Celtic army. Layed out together, the painted surface covers 38" x 26" - good enough for games such as Mighty Armies or A Song of Blades and Heroes.

Painting the 1/72 crossbow elements of Caesar Miniatures' Dwarves set.

The Bossonian archers form the van and is followed by the knights of Aquilonia and Poitain. The black banner of the king can be seen in the middle, albeit minus the Golden Lion of Conan. A mistake that Publius and the General of the Black Dragons is working to correct. ( I still have no idea if I will paint the heraldry or rely on decals...) I dug up some old GW elves as well as Mageknight figures and plan to repurpose them. With the local gaming club focusing on Warhammer 40k and Warmachine which isnt quite my cup of tea, I've decided to go back to AD&D Battlesystem 2nd edition and at the same time save some odds and ends for a HotT elven army.
