I just got the revised edition of A Song of Blades And Heroes from Ganesha Games. Reviews at TMP all gave positive opinions regarding this fantasy skirmish set amd I'm eager to try them out, hopefully this week. posted from Bloggeroid

August has been a busy, busy month and I haven't had time to model, paint or game. Seems like ages since I handled a brush but I'm hoping to start again this September with the 28mm LOTR projects. First on the table after the 28mm Games Workshop Rohirrim are boxes of Hat Industries' 28mm Almoravid Light Infantry from their El Cid line. Unlike the 1/72 line, these models are molded in a crisp plastic that accepts model cement well. The models are perfect substitutes and additions to my Haradrim army. More on these soon.

A tableful of 1/72 orcs I'm working on. These are orc models from Caesar Miniatures, Orion Models as well as Hat Industries Sea Peoples drafted for this army. I'm raising me a horde or two! I prefer Orion Models' orcs over Caesar's but the difference in design means I could develop different themed armies of orcs. The Hat Industries figures were from the biblical Sea Peoples box set but their ugliness make them perfect orc models too. Here's an older post I wrote about these models . As an aside, I can't seem to find any of the Caesar Miniatures fantasy line sets for sale. Does this mean that Caesar's pulled the plug on these figures?
