Made from various Mageknight figures ripped off from their clicky bases (a feature I never liked) as well as some Heroscape figures:) Repainted and rebased to provide an adversary to the Human Federation troops. The army is still incomplete and will soon have more biomechs added courtesy of some Japanese Gashapon I recently purchased.

    Great work! The paint scheme really makes these guys a cohesive force. What did you use for the base color on the Brass Commanders? That is the big guys on three little legs. Thanks!

    Thanks! The Brass Commanders, as have the other figures, were primed black then block painted with Tamiya Panzer Grey. A wash of black magic color ink and a drybrush of a lighter shade of Panzer Grey followed. The eye was painted white then red then highlighted with orange. I'm gaming with these soon and hope to add more pictures.

    I really like the way you have taken minis from non-standard sources and made them into themed forces that would not look out of place on a gaming table next to more contemporary sci-fi figures. I think I am going to have to look into these mage-knight and heroscape figures as I want to start a sci-fi project soon. Are the ones you use still available?

    Thanks, a local shop's been selling the Mageknight Minions boosters for about a dollar. And I've been busy picking them up for a song and a dance:)

    The heroscape minis here are scarce though.

Major General Tremorden Rederring's Colonial-era Wargames Page

A bit of nostalgia here. I'm gearing up for a weekend of working on my wargame table and was surfing for inspiration. Happily, I rediscovered Major General Tremorden Rederring's Colonial-era Wargames at the Wayback Machine. This wargaming group's been a source of inspiration ever since I discovered the wonderful world of miniature wargaming. Just look at that picture above and tell me you're not impressed. WOW! was all I could think off when I saw it. The page has since given its last huzzah and I don't know what's become of the group, but I'm sure I'll be rereading the material they still have archived. A veritable treasure chest of miniature gaming gems, the page embodied the FUN side of miniature gaming, neither taking itself too seriously nor scrimping on the joys of the hobby and its subsidiary hobbies/crafts. It's a pity if such a wonderful resource and such a huge contribution to the hobby is lost. I discovered the page waaaay back...

Battle Report: Blood on the Grass; First Mighty Armies Game

"At least, the sun will be on our backs," muttered Brogda the Red as he clutched at the rails of his chariot while Cumal his charioteer  manouvered to the front of the Keltoi battle line. "May the Morrigan feast well today, and not on my innards!" For weeks, Keltoi scouts have followed the advance of an orcish host from the deep south. Now, the green horde of monsters have reached the outermost village of the Keltoi Irinae tribe. With only a vast grassy field separating the monsters from the village, Brogda and the Keltoi weaponsmen he could muster plan to meet the invaders at the village edge and hold them until reinforcing  Irinae from other villages arrive. The women and children have left the village together with half the scouts two days past and reinforcements should be arriving this morning.
